Ham sits about three miles south of central Richmond, mostly within TW10 rather than TW9, tucked between Richmond Park and the Thames. It's a quieter, leafier corner than most of the borough, with a mix of 1960s and 1970s semis on the larger estates, older cottages near Ham Street, and some substantial detached houses closer to the park. The bulk of our calls come from the Ham estate roads, particularly around Ashburnham Road, Hardwicke Road and the streets feeding off Ham Street itself. Lock and Latchmere roads bring us in from Richmond via the A316 spur and down through Petersham, or sometimes straight down Ham Gate Avenue from the park side. Older cottages near the village centre often still have mortice locks that haven't been touched in decades, and plenty of the 1970s semis are running cylinders that were fitted when the houses were built, which makes them easy targets.
