A Hampton locksmith,
aiming to be on the doorstep in around 15 minutes.
Local Richmond locksmiths covering Hampton. Lockouts, lock changes, uPVC repairs and burglary work, with labour rates, estimated parts and VAT given on the call.
Hampton sits in TW12, about four miles from central Richmond, and it's a mixed bag of housing that keeps us busy. You've got Victorian and Edwardian terraces closer to the village centre, post-war semis spreading out towards Hampton Hill, and a decent spread of 1970s and 1980s detached and semi-detached houses on the quieter residential streets. We get called out here for everything from front-door lockouts to cylinder upgrades on older timber frames. Drive time from our Richmond base is usually 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic through Twickenham.
Station Road and Percy Road see a lot of our callouts, and the streets around Hampton village green have some lovely but ageing Victorian stock where the door furniture hasn't been touched in decades. We come in via the A316 then cut through Twickenham Road or Uxbridge Road depending on where we're headed. Hampton's proximity to the Thames means some properties have swollen timber doors that stick and cause no end of grief, and a surprising number of houses still have original mortice locks that offer very little real security.
Most common Hampton jobs
- Emergency lockouts on the Victorian terraces near Hampton village, typically 18-22 minutes from our base
- Worn or seized mortice locks on original timber front doors, especially the older stock near the river
- Anti-snap cylinder upgrades, often following a break-in attempt reported on the local Neighbourhood Watch
- Swollen timber door adjustments and lock realignment after damp winters
- Garage and side-gate lock replacements on the 1970s and 1980s semis off Uxbridge Road
- Yale nightlatch replacements where the mechanism has worn out and the key spins without catching
